This painter based out of Cali is really interesting! Sylvia Ji is not an artist that I typically like, but in her work, I find all the things that I want in my own paintings. She paints with a mixture of flat color and beautiful shading, creating an interesting push and pull throughout the image. Not to mention, the colors are so rich and alluring. The subject matter is not my cup of tea (I usually prefer less darkness, less skulls) but she paints it playfully with her bubblegum pinks and soft whites. Overall, Sylvia is everything I want to be and more!
